The Science of the Triangle’s Strength

Triangles are one of the strongest geometric shapes. Since triangles are so strong, they are used in bridges, houses, skyscrapers, and more! Triangles have fixed angles, meaning that they are able to resist compression and tension. Compression is a pushing force and tension is a pulling/stretching force. This causes the pressure to be distributed along the shape and makes it strong and rigid. Triangles are also flexible, meaning that they can still stretch and squeeze while maintaining the strength and structure.
