Materials:
- Tennis ball
- Ping-pong ball
- Adult science helper!
Directions: Take the tennis ball in your hand and grab the ping-pong ball in the other hand. Then, hold the ping-pong ball on top of the tennis ball. Then, with the ping-pong ball on top of the tennis ball, drop the balls. When that happens, the tennis ball should transfer energy to the ping-pong ball and send if flying higher!
That is similar to what the core of a star does. When it starts getting heavier, it collapses in on itself and transfers that intense energy to the outer layers of a star, causing a supernova!
