All About Saturn
Saturn is the sixth planet from the Sun. It is a gas giant which means it is mostly made out of thick gases. Some of those gases are Hydrogen and Methane. It has about 62 moons and more waiting for confirmation. Saturn is the second most largest planet in the Solar System. It is the ONLY planet with VISIBLE rings.
Saturn’s Rings
Saturn’s rings are made out of ice, dust, and rocks. Saturn’s strong gravity makes the rings stay in place. If you look at the rings from far away, it does not look like individual pieces, but if you look at it closely, you can see the individual parts. Saturn’s rings formed when one of its moons got a little too close to Saturn. Scientists believe that one of Saturn’s moons was torn apart by the planet’s strong gravity. This happened billions of years ago. Over time, the pieces of the moon began to orbit saturn to ultimately form its rings!!
