Follow these steps to do breathing exercises!
- Put one hand on your stomach and the other hand on your chest, where your lungs are. Then, breathe deeply. Notice how your body puffs up when you breathe in and gets smaller when you breathe out. This is called breathing awareness.
- Now, just keep taking deep breaths through your nose! This will help you calm down.
- Finally, choose a number to start on (for example 50). Then as you inhale and exhale, subtract an odd number from the number you chose at the beginning (example -3). Then, count down until you get to 0 or anything below. That distracts your mind from the pandemic and other busy things in your mind.
