The Vocal Tract

The vocal tract, or voice box, is a series of body parts that help you speak and make sound! The vocal tract is made up of the throat, lips, and larynx. The larynx contains the vocal cords whihc take air from the lungs and use it to produce a very quiet sound. As the sound works its way up through the throat, it comes out as a noise. We use our lips to shape those noises into words!
