What Is Adhesion of Water?

Adhesion is a property that water has. Adhesion means that water molecules like to “stick” to other water molecules and other things. That is actually why water forms in round drops! Adhesion also makes water more vulnerable to pollution because water sticks to many materials. Adhesion also helps plant suck up water from the ground. Adhesion, a unique property of water, is really important for plants! Try dropping some drops of water on a penny or other coin. It will the drops will come together and will sit above the penny! That is adhesion at work! Look at the picture below to see an example!
