A natural resource is any resource that occurs in nature that is used for survival, energy, or to make money for countries. Certain places on Earth have different types or different amounts of natural resources. These resources can be anything from coal to fruits to sunlight! These are only a few examples of natural resources on Earth! These natural resources are usually found in the specific geologic parts of Earth. For example, the U.S. has a large coal supply. The different types and amounts of natural resources on Earth allow different countries to buy and sell natural resources. Thanks to natural resources, we have all of these communities! The different natural resources set up a structure for countries, states, and cities! Natural resources are usually used for food and energy production, like electricity. There are two types of natural resources. They are renewable and nonrenewable resources. Renewable resources are resources that are always with us or can be replaced very quickly (less than a human lifetime). Examples of renewable resources are sunlight, wind, water, or wood. They can all be replaced. Nonrenewable resources are resources that cannot be replaced or take a long time to replace (more than a human lifetime). Examples are oil, natural gas, coal, and iron. There is only a set amount on Earth and they take millions of years to be created. These are what natural resources are!
