How Do We Breathe?

We breathe using our respiratory system and our lungs. Our lungs help humans breathe in Oxygen and breathe out Carbon dioxide. The lungs use tiny parts, called alveoli to help with this process. Alveoli, pronounced as alei-ve-oli, are tiny sacs inside of your lungs. They kind of look like grapes inside of your lungs! These alveoli help transfer Oxygen molecules from the lungs to the bloodstream. The bloodstream helps transport the Oxygen throughout the body. The alveoli have thing walls in which the Oxygen molecules can pass through. This helps regulate the amount of blood oxygen in your body! The lungs are extremely important because they provide the body with enough Oxygen to survive and also get rid of the Carbon dioxide waste. This is how we breathe!
